About this deal

The conclusion was - both very very simiar in design, construction (both 7 elements in 5 groups with multi-coating, buth have ≥9 aperture blades), geometry, distortion, but the Meike edge performance was slightly better. The M10 is a beautiful camera, and there is a part of me that wants one so badly but the SL has won me over big time :). the very shallow depth of field can make it a bit harder to focus, but I never have real trouble nailing it with focus peaking and the zoomed-in focus checking features Fujifilm has. The rear design of the lens has a bad design and rear lens caps do not securely lock and stay on, often falling off when in your camera bag. As one of the founders of 7Artisans is an avid Leica collector, it is not tough to see some of the design fundamentals of the German made lenses found its way into the 7Artisan lenses.

SPIN is founded by Wilson and provides exposure to its members through travel photography, mentorship programs with National Geographic Indonesia, 500px and Scott Kelby Global Photowalks. As for flare, depending on how you angle it towards the sun, it may exhibit the occasional flare but overall, I didn’t have many issues with this. If you’re looking for a superbly compact lens for your small mirrorless body, this is the perfect companion. The Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR delivers a 35mm full-frame equivalent field of view and stands out due to its small size and weather-resistant build.

But in normal shooting situations, I don’t know if you would even see the vignetting much once you start stopping down. It has the weight I expected from a fish-eye lens but is quite smaller, taking very little space in my bag. Wide compatibility: G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, G7, GF1, GF2, GF3, GF5, GF6, GM1, GM5, GM10, GX1, GX7, GX8, GH1, GH2, GH3, GH4; Olympus Epm1, Epm2, E-PL2, E-PL3, E-PL5. Even though the 7artisans lens is not in the same league as some of the lens manufacturers, it is sharp where it matters. Not because it’s cheap, but it definitely doesn’t feel cheap with the all-metal lens barrel and nice weight.lens is not perfect; I’m not a fan of the aperture ring, for example, and image quality while very good, doesn’t compare as well to say the Fuji counterpart. is a new lens that looks and feels vintage (maybe early-1980’s-ish), and produces results that have a vintage quality. IS small and its focus ring is not free wheeling but floats with a bit of resistance whenever I need to get focus from near to far and vice versa. If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. You can definitely get some great shots with this lens, and there were times when I was completely content with the sharpness, and I never felt like I needed anything sharper like say the XF 23mm f2.
