With each chapter the tension is ramped up and I went from not wanting to put it down, to being almost to scared to read on, but I did because I had to know who survived. But being a working mother is so much more difficult when you're a secret agent for an underground branch of the security services. Conrad Jones is one of my favourite authors, if you are ever in the doldrums with your reading just pick up one of his books, you will get straight into the story and won't be disappointed.It is a complex piece of work which interweaves a number of suspicious deaths onto one fabulous read. DI Williams is an intriguing new character, separated and still getting problems with 3 older not very useful sons! Determined to stop the horrific deaths, Imogen is forced to act as bait - but will she get caught in her own trap?

Not for the faint-hearted as the body count is high, but I enjoyed the pace and many perspectives as multiple points of view are used. I really enjoyed the writing style and that there were some familiar names, having already listened to the Brick audiobook last year.Conrad Jones a 52-year-old Author, living in Holyhead, Anglesey, which I class as my home, before starting a career as a trainee manger with McDonalds Restaurants in 1989. Was a bit thrown by the 4th and 5th going off on a different track with no mention of the original characters other than a quick reference to a crime committed in one of the first books.
