About this deal

The entry-level USB-powered DDJ-RB is all you need to get started with rekordbox dj performance software. For flexibility you can choose to hear your mix through your computer’s internal speakers, connected desktop speakers, or play through a wireless speaker. This is particularly useful when you’re DJing at a venue that doesn’t have a booth monitoring system and you have no choice but to mix using just your headphones. Credit is provided by a panel of lenders with whom we have a commercial relationship (so we cannot provide independent advice).

It has an intuitive layout, responsive jog wheels and tactile Performance Pads that let you trigger Hot Cues, Pad FX, Slicer and Sampler. With a built in soundcard, the controller can be connected straight to your speakers or amplifiers via a USB cable, for a quick and easy set-up. The two-channel mixer has faders and a crossfader that feel identical to the DDJ-RR, so that’s a plus for the DDJ-RB (or a minus for the DDJ-RR, if you want). The entry-level DDJ-RB has many top features usually only found on expensive professional midi controllers.Pioneer's DDJ-RB is ready to use straight from the box and has a built-in sound card for optimum glitch free performances. Lastly, the DDJ-RB had one shortcoming in the headphone monitoring department: while it did have a Master Cue button, there was no way for you to blend the headphone mix between the master output and the headphone cue.

Use the 8 coloured Performance Pads (four on each side) to launch various effects including, Beat Jump, Slicer, trigger Hot Cue and Pad FX; the creativity boundaries are endless! The Rekordbox DJ Sampler buttons, which are present in the rest of the DDJ-R line, don’t make an appearance on this device, which makes it less desirable than the DDJ-SB2 in my opinion. This means that you can use the controller to monitor and then cue your next track through your headphones, both at the same time.By accepting all cookies, you agree to our use of cookies to deliver and maintain our services and site, improve the quality of Reddit, personalize Reddit content and advertising, and measure the effectiveness of advertising. Featuring grab handles for easy movement, the controller is powered by USB for quick and easy plug and play. For flexibility, you can choose to hear your mix through your computer’s internal speakers, connected desktop speakers, or play through a wireless speaker. DEDICATED hard plastic PLAY/CUE buttons similar to a standard CDJ setup, this made a huge difference compared to the mushy square pads on the SB2 for play/cue/etc. maybe if you have a better soundcard than a standard motherboard soundcard that would be a feature available, but i do not know.

to use headphones you have to use the RCA connections instead and use the mixers internal soundcard. The DDJ-RB has what you’d traditionally find on Pioneer DJ DDJ controllers: you get an FX control section at the top of each jogwheel consisting of three buttons and a knob, and they work independently of each other. I never really warmed up to the jogs on a Traktor Kontrol S4 / S2 because they were so small, and I actually prefer the jogwheel-less Kontrol S8 because of this. I’m a bit let down by the fact that there’s not much new on the DDJ-RB, except that it’s Rekordbox DJ-specific. The entry-level USB-powered Pioneer DDJ-RB is all you need to get started with rekordbox dj performance software. The ultra short-throw pitch faders of the DDJ-RB are one of the main gripes of users, not to mention their relatively flimsy construction that had some fader caps wobbling.

That’s right, the DDJ-RB only lets you control two decks, which will bum some people out since the DDJ-SB2 had four deck control. So when you are ready to upgrade to say, a DDJ SX2 that is a serato controller yes it will come with a full serato license to use bound to that controller but it will also work with rekordbox DJ so now you have your choice to choose from since now you have both. If you’d prefer to have per-deck FX control and you don’t mind the shorter pitch faders, the DDJ-RB is still a good option, especially if you’re able to get a good deal on a used one since it’s been around for a few years now. Grande nota positiva è che gli aggiornamenti sono frequenti e quindi il Software viene continuamente migliorato (anche a distanza di due anni). no headphone mix control knob on the controller just volume, but as a beginner, im fine with just cueing which track i wanna listen to on the controller.
