This Blu-ray edition of '28 Days Later' arrives with a hazy 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 transfer that's only a meager step up from the already-problematic DVD. Still, the audio offers a pleasing upgrade from the muddy sound package on the DVD, and fans will be happy to hear the improvements. days after the initial outbreak, a man named Jim (Cillian Murphy) awakens from a coma in an empty hospital, oblivious to the outbreak that has consumed his homeland. everything else, the soundtrack is a mixture of classical music and distorted guitar, and let me tell you, it does it so well, the movie is filmed in a documentary style which works well. Predator and another Danny Boyle flick, ‘Sunshine,’ which (as of this writing) has yet to be announced for Blu-ray.Even if this footage provided stellar visuals, it wouldn’t make a difference, as the 35mm filled too little of the running time to matter.

It indeed takes the path farthest from the released film, as it omits many major characters and keeps the focus more constricted on just a few folks. To top it off, the soundscape generally doesn't feel very organic, with key elements (including voices) often sounding disjointed from other sound effects. The scenes of Cillian Murphy wandering around a completely deserted London are stunning and utterly chilling at the same time. The audio is good, but the film itself doesn't necessarily need an amazing audio presentation, and it does, but it is a really good presentation.While the soundfield didn’t go nuts throughout the whole movie, it kicked into action well when it mattered. So, grab the movie and some popcorn and cuddle up this Father’s Day with some rather terrifying movie moments.
