Gotouge received the award due to the franchise's sales, which boosted the entire publishing industry from 2019 to 2020. However, it might a just a generic battle shonen manga, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't have its charms.

But if the manga has an anime by the time I want to get into the series, I am much more likely to watch the anime and skip the manga entirely. The fate of Nezuko is enough to hook you into the story to find out whether Tanjiro is able to save his sister in some way. But everything changed when he came home one day to find his entire family violently slaughtered by a demon lurking in the nearby forest.No matter how many times I revisit it, it always makes me happy (which is kind of ironic since so many of my fav characters die). In its entirety, the story is beautiful and I encourage everybody to give it an honest chance - if not to the manga, then at the very least to the anime. Tanjiro, the surviving human brother, share an unbreakable bond with his sister, and though it sounded naïve in the context of this story, he will do anything to turn his sister back into a human. After years of strenuous training, Tanjiro must take part in a formidable and deadly final exam to make him officially become a member of the Demon Slayer Corps.

The surprise appearance of another boy named Giyu, who seems to know what’s going on, might provide some answers—but only if Tanjiro can stop Giyu from killing his sister first! We’re shown flashbacks of their prior sibling interactions, and it helps to develop that bond between them. With the movie and the first season now out, reading the manga is the way to go for fans who wanted to know and binge about this world and Tanjirou's journey, yet I may say that the anime is way better. Sure, our main hero gets to witness his whole family murdered and now has to take care of his sister who is now a demon, while learning to become a warrior, a demon slayer, and trying his best to survive.
