About this deal
The Meh: The writing isn’t horrible, although the pacing leaves something to be desired (which I’ll get to soon).
With the body count rising by the day, DI Caroline Hills and DS Dexter Antoine need to uncover the link before more innocent people die. The book ends on a cliffhanger and of course there are a lot of plot threads that are unanswered, especially back amongst the humans/mortals. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. The characters are fairly simple but then maybe 8 year olds will find their thinking patterns and slowness more reasonable. If you're running a script or application, please register or sign in with your developer credentials here. When I started it, I was so excited to read something like this, but it was so poorly and repetitively executed that it bore me to d-e-a-t-h. You also start to see a different side to Oliver which was a surprise – in a good way (although whether that continues remains to be seen).

I mean that not as a criticism but as an objective fact: the book as a whole is maybe 5% Things Actually Happening and 95% Words About Nothing Happening. It isn't until I suddenly find my father on his deathbed and myself sold off to a sadistic lord that I finally decide to take matters into my own hands.
What actually happens is the same situations just repeating itself over and over again until 100 pages in. The Opportunity: I would like to see faster pacing - maybe Kiss of Death and book 2, Touch of Death, should have been combined into one.But we still have the same sarcasm, wit, and humour from all the main characters that make us love them so much. it felt like a story i'd read a thousand times before and i wasn't super engaged with the characters or plot. Can't fault any part of the transaction so big thanks to the Seller for a smooth and pleasant transaction.
Synopses: Scarlett thought Dan McAndrew's murder was long behind her, but when she and her classmates arrive in Edinburgh for a weeklong field trip, she's startled to be joined by her old St. the heroine was also very flat and one-dimensional, and had the personality of a wet blanket except for one (1) outburst which didn't even last that long. Finch doesn’t take his foot off the accelerator right up until the last page which leaves you breathless and stunned, desperate for more. This should have been half of a full book because absolutely nothing happens and the main character's helplessness angers me incredibly. The following chapters have slightly different titles between the interface/index and the first page. I’m a bit behind and need to catch up – Ghost Town is just sat looking at me and waiting to be read!
