About this deal

If you are on a budget but you want a high-quality espresso machine then this is worth a look but for us it’s a little too manual as you need to turn it on to start coffee delivery and turn it off when you are happy with the amount of coffee in your cup. The easiest way to classify all 9 Sage products is first to break them down into 3 different price bands. Entry-level, Mid Range and Top End. Sage Entry Level Coffee Machines You want the best of the best –Look no further than the Technivorm Moccamaster, a style statement that translates into a perfect cup of coffee, thanks to its precise copper-heating system and pulse action that mimics the agitation achieved through manual pour overs. Given that every Moccamaster brewer has been awarded the SCAA certification, it’s no surprise this is our favourite drip coffee maker ( 3).

When buying coffee machines, it’s always nice to have something special or unique about it. With the Sage Precision Brewer, it’s the two filter baskets that make it unique. This is the only drip coffee maker that offers conical and flat-bottom filter baskets. Lastly and most importantly for me the digital temperature control or PID (proportional Integral Derivative) is another key difference between the two machines.

First Impressions Of The Sage Precision Brewer

Playing around with My Brew mode was fascinating, as there were so many variables that I didn't know where to begin. Ultimately, I settled on changing the brewing temperature to 180 degrees F for my dark chocolate roast – and I was very pleased with the results. However, I am one for convenience so I was more inclined to rely on the default settings than create my own. What We Didn't Like Coffee shall exhibit a brew strength, measured in Total Dissolved Solids, of 11.5 to 13.5 grams per litre, corresponding to 1.15 to 1.35 “percent” on the SCA Brewing Control Chart, resulting from a solubles extraction yield of 18 to 22 percent. The Sage coffee machines you can find are from the following ranges: Bambino, Oracle, Barista, Duo and Precision Brewers. Most devices will come with a built-in coffee grinder but if it doesn’t, you’ll need to buy one to grind your beans or you can buy pre-ground beans to use in it. Fill a container with warm water and add a few drops of white vinegar or other descaling solution as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Cleaning your Sage Barista Pro is essential to properly maintain the machine. Here are some tips to help keep your Sage Barista Pro running smoothly: 1. Clean the group head

To start the machine, rotate the ‘select’ dial to your desired mode then press the start/cancel button. As your coffee is brewing, you’ll be able to see its progress on the machine’s display, which is a nice feature. You’ll see the following: In a nutshell, a Sage coffee machine will give you the very best chance to create the very best possible coffee that will easily be better than anything you can expect to be served up in a high street coffee shop but there is a caveat. You have to be prepared to put some effort in. A few key differences between the Bambino Plus and the original Bambino are automatic milk texturing, App based technology and PID.

Setup involves testing the water's hardness (via an included paper test strip) and flushing the reservoir. Despite following the instructions to a tee, the machine didn't completely flush the water from the tank into the carafe during my setup, leaving about 20-oz of liquid behind. I looked for a possible cause behind this, and even reached out to Breville customer support – but to no avail. (Fortunately, it hasn't happened again.) Once you have cleaned all components, rinse them with water and let them air-dry completely before reassembling your Sage Bambino Plus. 4. Descale the machine when necessary For filter and pour-over lovers, we have the best coffee machine for all your filtering needs and we’re here to break down Sage’s most popular machine. You’ll know exactly what you’re getting if you opt for the Sage Precision Brewer Thermal Machine. Design-wise, the Breville Precision Brewer is reminiscent of the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV Select with the heating element and water reservoir on the left. and the brew basket and spray arm on the right. However, the Breville has a more traditional aesthetic compared to the industrial style of the Moccamaster. Size-wise, it’s pretty big so you’ll need to have adequate counter space available. We liked how large it was as it can really be made into a feature or focal point on your kitchen side.

While the Breville Precision Brewer may not be as expensive as the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV Select, it's still not a budget machine. But if you frequent coffee shops daily, you could eventually save money in the long run by opting to make your own drinks at home with the Breville – and thanks to its plethora of customization settings, your coffee will be just the way you want it, every time. For the best flavours from the Sage Precision Brewer, you should also ensure you have the right coffee-to-water ratio. You can perfect this by weighing your coffee on coffee scales and measuring the water used. What Makes the Sage Precision Brewer Different?Keep an eye out for any build-up of oils or coffee residue on the inside of the machine itself. If you notice any, carefully remove it with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Be sure not to use anything abrasive that could scratch the surface of your Sage machine.
