This can vary with the product used. Most handles come in separate parts that simply screw together to adjust the length. Can I use it to clean the car? The floor squeegee handle is made from a tough alloy and feels substantial to hold. It is very durable but only if used correctly. If you’re looking for a multi-purpose tool that does both mopping and squeegeeing then the Oxo Floor Mop is the perfect choice. Blue: X Hard Blade. Suggested mesh count is 120T-200T. Ideal for substrate printing including paper, board, metal, ceramics and glass printing. This blade will allow a good amount of pressure to increase definition to your artwork, it will also limit the deposit of ink which is great for non absorbent surfaces and extreme solvent based inks. Ideal for photographic work and fine lines. Suitable for most inks and for non absorbent surfaces. The sponge head folds up and sits on elevated feet for storage so it won’t stay damp and end up mouldy.

Green: Medium Hard Blade. Suggested mesh count is 77T plus. Ideal for textile and other substrate printing, finer detailed artwork and harsh solvent based inks. Suitable for Plastisol, Water Based, Paper & Board / Vinyl’s / Solvent Inks. Ideal for smoother surfaces.

Plastic Squeegees

The positives of a DIY squeegee is that you can adapt the shape and length of the handle and choose your squeegee blade to suit your printing style. For more hard-wearing surfaces (like concrete) you’ll want to consider a rubber floor squeegee as these tend to be a bit more hard-wearing. The Chemical Hut has produced this heavy duty squeegee and it should handle tougher surfaces without any complaints. The positives of the BADASS squeegee handle is that you can easily print a large open area of mesh. The heavy weight of the squeegee combined with the comfort of the handles makes printing large areas a breeze! We have been screen printing t-shirts by hand for nearly a decade now. It’s about time we gave you our opinion on some of the most common squeegee handles on the market. The negatives are minimal but if we must think of something that annoys us about this squeegee it would be the noise it makes during a print run. I can’t put this into words so please watch our YouTube video where we will demonstrate this little irritant in full.

Blue: XX Hard Blade. Suggested mesh count is 120T-200T. Ideal for substrate printing including paper, board, metal, ceramics and glass printing. This blade gives a good amount of pressure to increase definition to your artwork. It also limits the deposit of ink which is great for non absorbent surfaces and extreme solvent based inks. Ideal for photographic work and fine lines. Suitable for most inks and for non absorbent surfaces. Because of the secure fit of the head to the handle, this squeegee isn’t very flexible. This makes it harder to use in tight spaces so better for an open area like a garage or an open plan wet room and shower squeegee. The positives of a wooden squeegee handle is that you can change the blade as and when you need too. These are the OG of screen printing squeegees for a reason, they can be used for nearly all printing jobs and last forever if you look after them! Be cautious when using any product on your vehicle if it doesn’t specify that it’s safe to do so. If the material is slightly rough you can end up scratching the paintwork which is very expensive to fix. Only use products on a car that are designed for the job. Should I put the head in the dishwasher?

Felt Squeegees

The traditional wooden handled squeegee is a firm favourite in our studio. It is designed to be used for lots of different printing techniques including t-shirt printing and poster printing. The main things to look for when purchasing a good quality wooden handle is regular screws holding the blade securely in place, varnished wood and lastly look out for the handles which are sculpted to a hand shape. The handle is a light aluminium so you don’t need to be super strong to use this as a window squeegee. WPS Wooden Squeegee Range – Long lasting, cost effective and easy to use. Wooden Squeegees which are actually made of treated MDF. You can choose from the list below which Squeegee blade is the best for you. Green: Medium Blade. Suggested mesh count is 43T-77T. Success!

The double foam lip is scratch free and can be used on any surface from laminate to wooden floors, wet room floors, and even heavy duty floors like in the garage or patio. The double foam wiper will be sure to remove all water and there is a non-slip rubber handle for ease of use. Before we get into the details, I want to point out that there is no right or wrong squeegee and these results are purely based on the experience we have with each squeegee handle over a long period of time. Each handle is scored using the same criteria; Next up I have Kolliee with their take on the professional floor squeegee. This product serves a variety of functions so you really get a lot more than just a squeegee. The negatives are something which we have had to learn over time. Our main criticism revolves around the squeegee blade. Firstly the blade which comes with the squeegee handle is too soft so immediately you need to change that out. Secondly the blade is designed to hang slightly over each edge of the handle, as the original blade is too soft, this creates a dragging defect on each side of your screen.

A window cleaner or tiled surface needs to be a soft foam maybe with an added rubber scraper for removing excess moisture. The positives of the metal ergonomic handled squeegee is the comfort to print with it, the lightweight feeling, the sturdy structure, the ability to change the blade easily… the list goes on! As squeegees are designed to shift water droplets, snow and ice may be too tough for them. Whilst a squeegee may work to clear a light snowfall for heavier or compacted snow use a snow shovel or scraper as this could damage your squeegee. Final Thoughts The badass squeegee is one of the first ergonomic squeegee handles that we could get our hands on. It has 2 handles that are created to relieve pressure off the printers wrists while still giving a solid and even print. Are you needing a squeegee to help dry the wet room daily or will you just be using it once a month to clean windows?
