About this deal

Radiation in cars can be 100 times higher as in your home, my guess, even and because it is already a quite perfect Faraday Cage and quite perfect shielded. First, a smart meter cover will shield from RF radiation around the sides and front of the smart meter (likely pointing outward, or away from your house). A “jammer” will screw you up too. I suggest using a Swiss Shield Natural bed canopy. Along with a protective mat. Turn the power off to your living area. Also, look into moving to a house in the country. LARGE DIMENSIONS – Fabric sheet is 44in wide x 36in long (.91m x 1.1m) / 11 sq. ft. / 1.22 sq. yds. Surface resistance approximately .5 Ohm/sq. It can be cut, sewn, and taped like standard fabric to create your own shielding enclosure. Kit includes a bonus 36″L x 1″W strip of TitanRF Faraday Tape (high-shielding conductive adhesive) for connecting fabric sheets and sealing enclosures.

If I can’t get the home owner (I rent space in someone else’s home to live in the middle of nowhere) to leave the cordless phone and wi-fi off, I will buy rolls of steel window screen and completely cover the room I’m in. I already put it over the meter and just hope it still transmits ok so they’ll leave it there. My intention is not to keep them from getting their readings; only to stop the insomnia, headache, tooth pain, Tinnitus, eye pressure and joint pain.

There's likely going to be radiated emissions on the cables that necessarily go in and out of the Faraday cage

All others you see on the market called "Router Cover" are copies of the Router Guard invented by us. These copies require you to turn off your router and unplug the cables causing you to reset all your settings. FYI…After purchasing and testing the RF Meter shield (with very good results), I can attest to benefiting from this product and the truth in the following information (from their marketing campaign): Provided in aerospace standard size of 42.4” x 36.2” Originally used in air cabins, this Faraday Cloth is now available to private households to transform your room into a Faraday Cage. Put it under carpet, tile or laminate. Protect yourself even from the neighboring apartment. 1.2 sq. yards. / 10.8 sq. ft. Gas meters are often free-standing and thus it could be easier to cut the emissions from the “smart” module on your gas meter. We have information from a southern California utility customer who shielded her gas meter, so as to cut the RF going into her house, but not cut it off from communicating with the mesh network. She measured the RF before and after, and says the amount entering her home from the gas meter was greatly reduced. She used a flexible metal screening mesh from a big-box store and a stapler, wrapping the meter and stapling it in place, and then cutting an opening in the side furthest from her house, to let the signal out. This she says, appears to direct the RF away from her home. Stop Smart Meters! can’t assure your results, nor the safety of this arrangement. How is this not a case of each utility conducting corporate data mining on private property while inter linking private data with up to 5000 other similarly invaded and co-opted homes, having converted each and every one into one continuous network management system? The Lvfeier fabric has high-level electromagnetic radiation shielding – 1500MHz frequency at 59.7dB attenuation. A smart meter should work as usual when protected by the material, but it will weaken the signal. XFool wrote:Where I am we were told - rather a long time ago now - that our water meters (I still don't have a meter) were being converted to smart meters. My understanding (possibly wrong) was that these would be short range 'drive by' meters. Whether this is still the case I do not know. This DIY meter shield resulted in a 96% EF radiation reduction. This is pretty straightforward and cost-effective but you will need to have a couple of tools on hand (or have access to them).

Kudos on an excellent tutorial, especially the video! Thank you for all the invaluable information in this article. Do you have a link to the sheet regarding no permission given by the owner to install the meter, which he suggests to post next to the meter? Also, do you know of a reasonably priced radio frequency meter? Reply People with smart meters report symptoms like insomnia, dizziness, headaches, nausea, ringing in the ears, and all sorts of other health issues. When you switch, the new company has to rent it (or a new one). My son is occasionally active here on TLF so I will encourage him to give you a better answer. A 2012 FCC letter told a Pomona Park, Fla., resident to stop using a well pump that conflicted with amateur-radio frequencies. These are the new meters which measure how much gas and electricity you have used and will replace the old familiar type of energy meter. There are two types of the new meter; the advanced meter which gives information directly to the supplier, and the smart meter which communicates between the customer and the supplier. Most people have a smart meter type. A Smart Meter Guard or Cover is a metallic mesh cover designed to fit snugly over a smart meter and directly against the metal box the smart meter is attached to. You can see one in the picture above. The Radio Frequency (RF) Radiation emitted by smart meters and other WiFi devices, cannot travel through parallel lines of metal very well, if the metal is a good highly conductive metal. Studies have also proven that microwaves from devices like smart meters have the ability to activate voltage gated calcium channels or VGCC.

As for a radio frequency meter, I like the Trifield TF2 for personal home use. Hope that helps! Reply Not understanding how a cover reduces my exposure when I’m inside of the house. Can you explain please. We can do this by using aluminum foil and a metal sheet. The term reflection simply refers to reflecting RF waves in another direction.Effective shielding for high frequency electromagnetic, such as: industrial high frequency road, mobile communication, household appliances, signal transmission stations, medical instruments and other industries The only reason you would ground it is to also “shield” against the smart meter’s electric fields. Grounding is not required to shield against the radio frequenices (RF), which is the primary issue. Reply Instead to shield your home to avoid smart meter waves affecting your health the “improvements” should go first as: get rid of all modern electronic devices in your home. Switch off your cellphone if getting close to you (shorter as length of your stretched arm). Do not use any simple electrical engine such as a fridge, washer, fans, hair dryers, mills, fruit mixers, drilling tools … with commutators (creating small blue electrical sparks inside which are also RF sources) … That is bs. No device can stop another device from emitting RF energy. The only thing that is conceivable would be an active jammer that steps on the meter’s zigbee signalling in the hope that the smartmeter will stop attempting to send data after a number of unsuccessful attempts, but I doubt that’s what those “smart”meters do. More likely it’ll ramp up transmission power and keep on trying. The thing to do is to shield it completely in an enclosure. The meter will still ramp up transmission power inside the shielded enclosure but that’s a good thing as that can cause the rf components to burn out. The 1% to 2% of the radiation that is not contained is sufficient to transmit a signal for about a mile or so (versus 30 miles without a Smart Meter Guard). Since most power company data receiving stations are less than a mile away, chances are very good that the utility company will continue to receive the signal it needs. As of this writing, no complaints have been received by the company that makes the Smart Meter Guard that power companies are not getting the signal from homes with a Smart Meter Guard installed.
