Perhaps a leaking pipe below the floor or insufficient ventilation to reduce humidity levels can be a reason why these pests appear in the first place. This again can be especially true if you're drying washing indoors. If you have silverfish on the wall, consider where you're hanging your frames. Since most frames are hung at eye level, frames positioned higher above the ground are out of reach of silverfish. But if they're sitting at floor level leaning against the wall, think again about where you're putting your pictures.
