About this deal

The RING RTC1000 Rapid Digital Tyre Inflator is undoubtedly smart looking. I like the round, flat design, which makes it very stable. On our test car, a 2017 Peugeot 208 XY, the official tyre pressures are 2.5 bar front and 2.3 rear for a normal load. With a full car, these increase to 2.5 front and rear. On the left-hand side is a storage gap for the inflation tube and connector, and on the underside is the 3.5m 12V power cable that is on a reel for easy tidy away.

Ideal for inflating car tyres or sports equipment, The Ryobi One has an easy-view pressure gauge and a powerful motor for rapid inflation. It allows up to 150psi of pressure and includes two high pressure nozzles and a sports and ball needle if required. It doesn’t look quite as snazzy as some of the others, thanks to the fact that it’s adorned in a cheap-looking silver plastic, but after all, you’re squatting on the ground with grease on your hands — elegance is already out of the window. Designed with one-button control, it is straightforward to use and comes complete with three accessory adaptors. With a respectable maximum pressure of 80 PSI, a 2.9-metre power cable that connects to your car’s 12V outlet, and a 48cm air line, this mini tyre compressor is a highly functional piece of kit. Extra long 70cm air hose with easy access storage compartment specifically designed to reduce kinks

This is definitely a top-of-the-range item, but if you’re the sort of person who regularly uses an air compressor then the RTC1000 is well worth a look. Although, if you're looking for something cheaper, the RTC200 is another of Ring's inflators in the new range - but it sits at less of a premium price. We timed how long it took to inflate a 15-inch tyre from 20-30psi, noting the pressures displayed before and after, plus the ambient and working noise levels. We also timed adding 5psi to a space-saver tyre, to bring it up to 60psi. Not anymore; thanks to the Ring Smart Tyre Inflator, all you have to do is whip out your smartphone.

The inflator is easy to use, thanks to the flat design, large on/off button and valve cap storage. The deflation valve allows you to make small reductions in pressure. Well, the idea of the Ring Smart Tyre Inflator is incredibly handy, one tyre inflator that stores the pressures of each vehicle, so all you have to do is connect it, and press go—a hassle-free way to keep on top of your pressures. While this 12V digital air compressor is not the most accurate nor the most durable, it is handy and stores neatly in your car boot. Unfortunately, the instructions are very poor and we’d advise you to try it out several times on arrival to familiarise yourself with the product. Another welcome feature is the long power lead, which winds up inside the unit. There is also a recess on the side in which the air hose fits, so everything is neatly out of the way when not in use. And it comes with a zipped grey carrying case as well. When attaching the pump to your tyre valve using the screwed air hose the current tyre pressure will be displayed on the screen after a few seconds. Using the small yellow dial on the front you can set your desired pressure and then press it in to confirm your selection. Then at the bottom is a big power button that you can't miss - this gets the inflation process underway.Much improved is the tyre valve connector which, unlike many others, is now sturdier. This new, bigger brass unit makes it much easier to connect to a tyre valve that’s all covered in road gunk because it’s big enough for you to grip properly. It’s also much easier to attach to tyres with awkwardly placed valves. As always, there’s a deflator valve if you need to let some of the air out. The Ring RTC1000 Tyre Inflator is a 12V digital rapid pre-set air compressor from Ring Automotive. The inflator comes in a storage bag (always useful!) but also contains some protective gloves, which are ideal for protecting you from the dirt on your wheels and valves. It has a large digital display that shows the current pressure reading and your target pressure, plus a status indicator across the middle.

I’ve got no idea what database the Ring Connect app uses, but it’s not right. So make sure you enter the values manually. The preset digital air compressor function with auto shut-off saves time and hassle. Unlike other models, the display also features tyre pressure readings in PSI, BAR and KPA, so no more having to make complicated conversions from one type to another. For dark winter mornings or night time car breakdowns, there’s a handy LED lamp that features a torch, flash and SOS setting for extra convenience and safety. I was gifted this automatic tyre inflator from RING Automotive– a company specializing in this type of product – in exchange for publishing an honest review. So here are my thoughts about it.With extra-long 3.5m power cable + fused 12V DC power plug to help you reach all around the vehicle
